Singer of the Tangerine Tree psychedelic rock group, Ian Stalker has taken up residence in the pole and happened Sunday August 10 has SOLIGNY-LA-TRAPPE (Orne). The pole was able to meet him for a few moments before he joined the scene, entirely dressed in leather. A stage habit made by his wife Valérie Wilson, costume designer.
How long have you been working in the pole?
I have been playing for 21 years in the pole. The atmosphere during my concerts is always great! I am fortunate to have the support of many local holidays and to play regularly for the Catholic Secours also.
Can you tell us about your journey?
I started singing around 15 years old and never stopped (laughs). We shot a lot with my group Tangerine Peel in the 1960s and 70s. We were fortunate to be signed at CBS and MGM which allowed us to play on television sets and to make the first part of the Who in 1965. A beautiful era, especially in London of these years!
What do you particularly like in the region?
As soon as I arrived in the pole, people were very welcoming and adorable with me. You really like the old rock’n’roll here (laughs), it’s great! I also played a lot in the southwest and I must admit that I prefer to play in the pole (laughs). The public is always very receptive and likes to hear my repertoire, from Elvis Presley to Otis Redding via Marvin Gaye.
