the criticism of our crush to taste like a mochi in the heat wave

Need a change of scenery, fresh air and an original and light film? “In a loop” by Junta Yamaguchi will fill all your expectations, and much more.

The synopsis

A new day begins at the Fujiya inn, nestled in the heart of the Japanese mountains. Director Junta Yamaguchi and his screenwriter also producer Makoto Ueda are geniuses. Already the author of the totally barred SF nugget “Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes”, they reoffend with an equally smoky and delightful concept. Imagine that you infinite the last two minutes of your existence.

Have you understood the concept? More crazy than “an endless day”, the Japanese duo creates the two endless minutes, except that here all the protagonists are aware of being locked in the same time loop. And the film to successively become a burlesque comedy, a romantic film, a reflection on writing and of course a joyful SF delirium. All filmed in sequence to exploit the decor to perfection, a traditional Japanese inn where time seems frozen while waiting for melting snow. It’s fun, light, unequal of course, like everything based on a crazy concept but how many films give you a smile by asking yourself an existential question? What would you do if your life was constantly repeated identically?
