After playing in a multitude of (more or less) prestigious – A perfect circle training in pixies via Zwan – Bassist Paz Lenchanin embarks on a solo career. His first album, entitled Sadwill appear on October 17 on his own Hideous Human Records label.
A first extract, “Hang Tough”, has just been revealed. This melancholic piece benefits from the participation of Josh Freese (battery, ex-perfect circle, Devo, Foo Fighters…, current drummer of Nine Inch Nails) and Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age). The pianist Jeffetiti completes the line-up. The song is accompanied by a clip where Lenchanin, feared with bat wings, evolves in the middle of emotional landscapes in ruins, seeking to overcome the pain.
Recorded in Mexico throughout 2024, Sad is described as a “personal and expansive” record, centered on faith, doubt and self -discovery, written in the wake of the departure of Pixies the same year. The mix was entrusted to Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs).
« I had to make this disc alone “Explains the musician. “” Not to prove anything, but simply to keep faith in the fact that music could take care of me. And that’s what she did. »
