A poem by Aimé Césaire
The chain has chosen one of its staging and upsets its program grid, this August 15, to rebroadcast Back to the native countryshow created and captured in 2022 at the Théâtre de l’Évée de Bois, in Paris, after the work, published in 1939, of the great writer and poet Aimé Césaire.
In an interview, the actor had explained why he had ardently wanted to embody this explosive and overwhelming poem, at a time when anti -racist struggles are sometimes designated as “Identities” or “Communitarians”.
As the press release sent this morning by the chain recalls: “In 1939, at 26, Aimé Césaire, born in Martinique, published the first version of ‘notebook of a return to the native country’. First poem of a work that was going to make him one of the greatest poets in the French language of the 20th century. Fundamental text symbolizing pride and found dignity of black peoples but also oppressed peoples around the world ”.
The program will be broadcast at 10:20 p.m.
