“For me, painting is therapy”: in Condom, the “#titi art gallery” opens its doors to a resilient art

Life led him to settle down in Condom. Meanwhile, But before Gascogne, Thierry Lebret traveled many regions and had several professional lives. Consequently, “But it was here that I was struck by a stroke that left me partially paralyzed,” he explains. Therefore, A city where the young woman decided to give free rein to his passion for painting.

“For a long time, I was a painter at my time. In addition, I have been painting for myself for about twenty years, my loved ones, my friends. I answered several orders too but it was just when I “for me, painting therapy”: condom, landed a little because I lived in Africa. in Colombia… I rolled my bump and it was really after my stroke that I decided to devote myself to what I liked. ”

While discovering art as “a refuge. then a rebirth”, Thierry realizes that his career speaks to many others. “For me. painting is not only a mode of expression, but also a therapy, a way of rebuilding, of remaining active, of finding a place in society”.

A personal story that leads him to want to share his artistic adventure with others. “I created an association. # tag, for Titi (my nickname) Art Gallery, an inclusive, united and united space, imagined not only as an art gallery but also as a personal transformation workshop for other people confronted with disability and marginalization”.

The workshop he has just opened in Gaîchies Street therefore presents not only “for me, painting therapy”: condom, his creations of Art Brut. his watercolors, but also the work of painters, sculptors, designers … “The goal and to put them forward, to help them assert themselves. I also plan to offer workshops with different stakeholders at the gallery. to put on events around other forms of expression (photo, theater, music) outside ”.

While ideas are swarming. Thierry still hopes that the associations of the association allow him in the future to offer activities in medico-educational structures and to welcome disabled people. In the meantime. from mid-July, the gallery will welcome the public from Thursday to Sunday, but also in the evening, especially for the Tuesdays of the summer.
