The festival “Leaving en livre” opens a new page

Summer holidays are a conducive period to read. Moreover, That’s good, the 11ᵉ edition of Bookmark stands until July 20. Organized by the CNL. the National Book Center, under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, this itinerant youth literature festival invests libraries, beaches, leisure centers and campsites.

The president of the CNL. Régine Hatchondo recalls the objective: “Give or give back to children and adolescents to read. We take out the book of the shelves to go to the front of adolescents. children by offering them works, by making them meet authors. They realize that the latter are alive. beings of flesh and bones and that they share with them the same society and therefore they tell them about subjects that are very close festival “leaving en livre” opens new to them.” Among these subjects: academic harassment, gender equality, ecology, otherness or even nature.

More than 6,000 free events are organized in more than 2,000 municipalities in France. Shows, immersive readings, philosophy workshops, books with books, drawn concerts, “Leaving in Book” is an extremely varied event. “It can range from reading tales aloud to drawing workshops. including writing sessions around our theme which is this year that of animals and the relationship that we maintain with them.” A collection of 10 news around animals, signed by figures of children’s literature, is distributed in paper and digital version. A thematic bibliography with 50 titles aims to give other enriching ideas to young readers who can ask advice from mediators.

Another flagship element of the festival, the Livrodrome. This literary amusement park travels La France de Paris to Marseille via Martigues. Chalon-sur-Saône: at each stage take place nearly fifty workshops, readings and festival “leaving en livre” opens new games with the participation of 220 authors and artists in a fun and fun atmosphere.

As a family. you can also go to the Garden of Rouen Plants to discover Kamishibai: a traveling theater inspired by Japanese culture where artists tell stories by scrolling illustrations in front of the spectators.

In the Alpes-Maritimes. in the villages of Tende and Breil-sur-Roya, from July 15 to 20 we can participate in a literary Olympiad by practicing reading in balance or boxing!
