The weather, the strength reserves with a longer race duration-and probably also one or the other tactical decision: These three elements have ensured that the first preliminary decisions were made on the 6th day of X-Alps 2025.
1. Patrick von Känel from Frutigen and Rookie Nicola Heiniger both show a strong appearance-but they have to bury their podium hopes. A thunderstorm has (not only) ended the catch -up of the two abruptly this afternoon. Currently from Känel as 8th with 110 kilometers behind the top, Heiniger than 10. even at 160 kilometers. However, both can flirt with a top 10 class.
2. Chrigel Maurer and the Italian Aaron Durogati have clamped together so as not to lose the connection to Leader Lars Meerstetter. Knowing that they are moving forward more quickly than a lone fighter.
3. One is currently Lars Meerstetter. He leads the race confidently all day. At the end of the flight time at 9 p.m. he has an hour ahead of Chrigel Maurer, who is in second place.
Everything indicates that Rookie Meerstetter and his mentor Maurer and the Italian Durogati make the victory among themselves this year. You have less than 335 kilometers to the finish.
As is the question of who pulls the joker and tries to either blow with the Nightpass, which is available to all athletes once to catch up – or enlarge the gap to the pursuers massively.
The Canadian Patrick Harvey-Collard had to give up injured during the day. Frenchman Tim Alongi also left the race. So 25 men and 1 woman are still on the X-Alps 2025. The fastest of them will pass St. Moritz tomorrow Saturday.
As usual, there is still a few impressions of an eventful race day at this point:

… and Patrick von Känel also had less of these conditions than you like. For the second time, the weather has now thwarted him.
