Vincent Sierro leaves Toulouse for Saudi Arabia

As expected for several weeks, Vincent Sierro will now evolve in Saudi Arabia. The Valais midfielder leaves Toulouse FC to join Al-Shabab, a club based in Riyadh.

Arrived in Téfecé in January 2023 from Young Boys, Sierro had become a key element of the club in the southwest of France. The 29 -year -old Sierrois wore the captain’s armband in the last two seasons and his good performances had opened the doors of the Swiss team (13 selections, 1 goal).

One year before the end of his contract, Vincent Sierro therefore made the choice to join the Saudi championship, which always attracts more players from the big European championships. He signed a contract on the next two seasons with Al-Shabab, a club at the six titles of Saudi Arabian champion and 6th in the last financial year.

A choice ‘carefully thought out’

In the columns of the Nouvelliste, his agent Michel Urscheler justified this choice to leave Ligue 1 and Europe. ‘Al-Shabab had already contacted us in summer 2024. Despite the choice to stay in Toulouse, the club has always followed Vincent. It is a very thoughtful transfer ‘, he assured.

To see if this decision will have an impact on its future in the Swiss team. The coach Murat Yakin is scheduled to announce Thursday, August 28, the list of players selected for duels planned against Kosovo (September 5) and Slovenia (September 8) in Basel – First matches of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
