On the occasion of the release of the book The Viaur-Aveyron, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne valleydeveloped by the historian Max Assié and the Aveyron photographer Patrice Geniez, a friendly animation brought together the readers around the author photographer, who came to exchange with the public. This meeting was held at the Boulangerie Colgeges tea room, Saturday June 21.
A new look
The public has hurried to come and leaf through this work which makes the fauna discover (we find along this river the pilgrim, the Martin-Fisher, the otter …), the flora, as well as the heritage that can be observed on each of the municipalities crossed by Viaur, from its source at the foot of the Pic du Pal in the town of Vezins to the confluence in Laguépie in the Tarn-et-Garonne.
Illustrated by superb photos, work by Patrice Geniez, this work delivers a synthesis of different writings already published on Viaur, by exploring the heritage in more detail, as small as it is, and by taking a new look at this river which winds through Levézou and the Aveyron and Tarnais Ségala.
In parallel, Patrice Geniez, passionate about nature, lets us admire a tiny part of his unpublished shots taken in Aveyron, Lozère and some of course along Viaur, through around twenty paintings presented at the tea room. A beautiful exhibition that finds its place in this small meeting space that has temporarily become a cultural place.
