A fantastic and offbeat series, to see in just eight hours, attracted criticism a year ago. The episodes are all online on Netflix.
What are we looking at right now on Netflix? Each week, the streaming platform offers new content to its subscribers, so that it is not always easy to know which program to give your time, or which to avoid. And why not rather launch an older program but which was hailed by criticism? On August 29, 2024, a series that looked at itself very quickly, seduced the French and international press, which highly recommended it.
British series created by Charlie Covell (The End of the F***ing World), KAOS Completely reinvents Greek mythology by transposing it into our contemporary society. While Zizania rages on Mount Olympe and Zeus plunges into paranoia, mortals discover that they hold the future of humanity and that they are the subject of a strange prophecy. In the casting, the series features Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) In the role of the king of the gods, Janet McTeer (And menu, ozark) in that of Hera, Cliff Curtis (Sunshine, Fear the Walking Dead) is posedidon, David Thewlis (Harry Potter) Est Hades et nabhaan rizwan (Station Eleven, Industry) is Dionysos.
You will understand, KAOS therefore uses myths well known to the public to twist them with cynicism and black humor in a quirky style of which only the creator of The End of the F***ing World has the secret. And if we believe press reviews, it works perfectly. Criticism is (almost) unanimous: KAOS is a success. British media Le Guardian Even dare to qualify this series “furiously fun” as “masterpiece”.
For Allociné, “Kaos is one of those oddities that we like to watch from time to time”, when Télé Loisirs “is already calling for a season 2 of this series quirky with black humor”. For free Belgium, “this new Netflix series is a UFO that will make you travel very far”.
Composed of eight episodes only lasting an hour each, KAOS Can be easily banged in a weekend or in a few days, if you are in a hurry and look for short programs. The entire first season is available on the Netflix streaming platform for its subscribers since August 29, 2024. Unfortunately, for lack of audiences, it will not have followed. This does not prevent savoring your first season for the most curious!
