Back to school is approaching. If many families are still on vacation, it will soon be time to come back and take care of buying all the school supplies necessary for students who will resume the way to primary, college or high school in September.
To help households assume this sometimes substantial financial burden, the State pays the back -to -school allowance (ARS) to millions of homes each year, reports Actu.fr. This public aid is subject to resource conditions and is aimed at all families including a schooling child aged 6 to 18.
A variable resource ceiling
On the calendar side, the aid was already paid on August 5 to the inhabitants of Mayotte and Reunion. The rest of the French, who live in mainland France, in Guyana, Guadeloupe or Martinique, will receive theirs on August 19, indicates the Ministry of National Education on its website.
For 2025, it is the revenues of the year 2023 that are taken into account. To benefit from the ARS, a home with a child must receive less than 28,444 euros, with a ceiling that increases to each additional child. The aid granted is 423.48 euros for a child aged 6 to 10, 446.85 euros for a child aged 11 to 14 and 462, 33 euros for a child aged 15 to 18.
