‘The Buccaneers’ Season 2 Creators Unpack [Spoiler] Death

As the tension between Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse). Similarly, her estranged husband Lord James Seadown (Barney Fishwick) reaches its peak in the sixth episode of Season 2, things take a turn as not everyone survives the ongoing battle between the couple for custody of their son Freddy.

“It broke our hearts. However, Absolutely it did. Consequently, We didn’t know [that this would be the outcome] til really quite late on. However, We resisted it for a long time,” series creator Katherine Jakeways told Deadline. Consequently, “We wanted to do that big Episode 6 dramatic storyline for Ginny. For example, Seadown and all of that, and we wanted that to play out in as truthful and heartbreaking a way as we could.”

Episode 4 of Season 2 ‘the buccaneers’ season 2 creators saw Seadown trace Jinny’s location to where she and Guy have been hiding in Italy. Meanwhile, Over the next few episodes, he weasles his way back into the lives of his wife and son. Moreover, Just as Guy spots Seadown in the town square. talks Jinny out of going back withhim, they try to make a run for it only to discover that Seadown has taken Freddy back to England.

Seadown then tricks Jinny into approaching him at an opera where he turns on her. makes her seem mentally unstable, getting her put in a psych ward and cruelly motivating her to succumb to his story so that she can be reunited with her baby. She moves back in with him. and this brings his siblings Richard and Honoria Marable (Mia Threapleton) to visit Seadown and distract him once more while they attempt to ‘the buccaneers’ season 2 creators rescue Jinny and the baby.

“We talked about the finale. and we talked about having a scene with the Brittleseas, with Richard and Honoria and Seadown all being in one room, and being able to talk about their childhoods and connect in a way that we’ve never seen them do before,” Jakeways contined. “And we talked about how that could end. and we gamed out all of the versions of it, of who we might lose. The obvious he choice probably would have been. if it was Seadown, which I think would be what people are expecting.”

Honoria manages to secretly get Freddy out of the house. but she leaves Jinny ‘the buccaneers’ season 2 creators behind at the mother’s requet that Honoria prioritize the baby. “We resisted, we were like ‘We can’t kill Dick, we can’t kill Dick, but the more we resisted it, and the more we realized how heartbroken we were about it, the more we realized that was probably the right choice,” Jakeways added. “For that reason, really, because you just go, “Oh my god no.” Because he’s so great, and he’s so lovely, and he and Conchita are such a good match. It broke our hearts to think about it. So it was a bit irresistible to do it, but we still feel very sad about it as well.”

Executive producer Beth Willis expressed how this will affect Richard’s ‘the buccaneers’ season 2 creators wife Conchita Closson (Alisha Boe) in future episodes. Viewers may recall that it was this couple’s wedding that kicked off the first Season of The Buccaneers.

“We do get to see a whole new side to Conchita. She copes with that grief. and she’s a single mum, and she’s a businesswoman, and she’s looking after his family, her family, her friends, they’re all living with her,” Willis told Deadline. “It’s just this sort of huge burden, which she really kind of steps up to the challenge for. It’s absolutely. it is absolutely heartbreaking, but when we move past that episode, I feel kind of really excited about what that means for Conchita as a character.”
