Reality of literature
Back to school is in full swing. Should we be sorry? No!
He will have escaped anyone that literature and the idea that we have evolved with great speed for at least twenty years. There is, of course, the blows of an industrial book production, if not industrial, where large groups use distractive texts like the warning signs of the scenarios of their TV series to come.
But, at this moment of literary return, it is not a question of regretting the disappearance of a former sublime and superiority to sink into the deploration of a desecrated, level and functional present. The struggles, in literature, have not disappeared. They may have changed fields. Today’s research is more likely to explore the personal experiences of the authors and authors, with a sometimes acute consciousness of the political resonances of their texts. These approaches do not always dodge a junk existentialism, flowering the lesson of life or silly sentimentalism … biases that have watched literature for centuries!
But the urgency of the real claims of those who write equally imperative responses. Literature is also this place far from theoretical constructions and abstractions where reality can result in intimate, embodied perspectives, without necessarily being dependent on advanced formal research. This word is precious because it allows everyone to measure their own life in the light of that of the other.
