Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau was arrested for driving with the weakened faculties in March 2020 in New Brunswick.
Parenteau had omitted to make a stop, which made sure that he was arrested by a police officer, who felt a smell of alcohol. Parenteau was taken to the police station, where he carried out two blood alcohol tests. The first was wrong and the second was higher than the limit of 0.08%.
After a trial in 2023, it is now that the former NHL player asked the Supreme Court of Canada to intervene in this case, according to Radio-Canada.

This affair has long dragged.
The first trial took place in June 2023, when a judge of the Provincial Court had acquitted him because there was not enough evidence that the police in office had the skills necessary to pass a blood alcohol test and a reasonable reason for the arrest.
This case then went to the king’s court, who judged that a new trial was to take place because the judge of the provincial court refused to hear a second witness.
PA Parenteau therefore led the decision to the Court of Appeal, which made the same verdict as the king’s court.
And here we are now, when Parenteau calls on the Supreme Court of Canada.
It’s a lot.
If the Supreme Court refuses to hear its cause, Parenteau will finally have to have a second trial, as planned.
It is still crazy that we are talking about a story that dates from five years and which has not yet been settled.
Whether PA Parenteau is found guilty or not, the moral of this story is that alcohol behind the wheel is a bad idea.

– CF Montreal sanctions the collective.
I am confirmed that the club has made the decision to sanction the @Collectif_imfc Following the pyrotechnics used last Tuesday against Club Leon, pyrotechnics which went against the rules of the MLS, as well as the agreement which links the @Collectif_imfc at the club. You might think that… https://t.co/iatwercq3l
