“Marronnier” summer bordered by plane trees, the national 7 is back with an unprecedented and unifying theme: the “holy alliance”. Not that concluded between Russia, Austria and Prussia after the defeat of Napoleonic France in 1815, but that, pacifist and enjoyable, between tourism and gastronomy, advocated by Curnonsky (1872-1956), the first culinary critic and close to the Michelin brothers.

The automobile associated with paid holidays will thus make the reputation of the national 7 and give birth, over its 1,000 kilometers, to mythical dynasties of great chefs: Fernand Point in Vienna (Isère), Pierre and Jean Troisgros in Roanne (Loire), André Pic in Valence, Mother Brazier and Paul Bocuse in Lyon … their worthy heirs (by blood or mind) Director Stanislas Kraland. Starting with Michel Chabran, from Maison Chabran, and Patrick Henriroux, successor to Fernand Point, whose imposing photograph he retains by Robert Doisneau.

Also surrounded by old photos, Michel Troisgros, son of Pierre (brother of Jean) does not sulk his pleasure to evoke his memories, and salutes the genius of his grandparents, who settled in 1930 in a strategic place, “On the national 7, facing the garage and back to the station”.
