Montauban. Colored opening at the Protestant retirement home

This Thursday. Furthermore, July 17, the Protestant retirement home in Montauban, located at 18 quai Montmurat and directed by Jean-Daniel Coppens, opened its doors to art and conviviality.

At the end of the afternoon. residents, visitors and curious people found themselves there for the opening of the summer exhibition of Jacques Lagrois, alias Fenton Vullivan. Originally from Paris but installed in Tarn-et-Garonne for over twenty years. this self-taught painter, who signs his works under the acronym Aped-an artist in the future-, presents a series of canvases as joyful as poetic.

Humor in a strap, the creator immediately seduces with his simplicity. However. the works hung montauban. colored opening protestant retirement in the corridors of the residence testify to a real talent, as discreet as an authentic, far from the sometimes oversized ego of certain visual artists. Painted with acrylic. his paintings with naive accents evoke the style of the Rousseau customs: characters, landscapes and dreams, colorful, almost alive. As a young visitor nicely noted on the guest book: “I saw dancing houses.”

A striking result, to be discovered absolutely for all naive art lovers.

Many came to greet the painter. in a festive atmosphere, punctuated by the musical duo Jimmy and Arnaud, who animated the evening brilliantly. The meeting concluded around a glass of friendship and some tasty toast, prepared by the kitchen service of the establishment. And, as the Montalbanian duo sang with humor in one of his favorite pieces: “Just Boogie, Jacques!”
