A mythical love story brought to the big screen. Simone Signoret and Yves Montand will come back to life in the guise of Marina Foïs and Roschdy Zem in the new film by Diane Kurys, “Me who loved you”, expected in theaters on October 1.
In the trailer that was put online this Tuesday, July 15, the actors appear metamorphosed-for the best and for the worst-and try to transcribe an era and a couple which has become iconic. “She loved her more than anything, he loved her more than all the others. (…) Haunted by her husband’s connection to Marilyn Monroe and bruised by all those who followed, Signoret has always refused the role of victim. What they knew is that they would never leave themselves, ”said the synopsis.
This scenario, director Diane Kurys wrote it for five years with Martine Moriconi. “Five years of research: maintenance in the press, on radio, on television, meetings with the couple’s relatives. We read everything that was published on Signoret, on Montand. We listened and looked at all their interviews. And then, we saw their films again. We had to soak up their lives as much as their filmographies to understand the subtle mechanics of this binomial both public and secret. Their careers, their gras, which they revealed in a word during the interviews. It was a long, meticulous and essential job, ”she explains in the press kit.
