Madonna unveils her album “Veronica Electronica”, a project expected by her fans for 25 years

For a long time in the drawers, this album of remixes designed by Madonna in parallel with her cult “Ray of Light” disc, in 1998, is finally available this Friday, July 25.

Hailed by criticism when it was released in 1998, Ray of Light Marked a turning point in pop of the 1990s, revealing Madonna’s ability to reinvent herself by exploring sounds then in full emergence, such as techno, electro or trance, and to impose itself as an avant-garde artist.

To accompany the success of this disc. rewarded with three Grammy Awards, the singer had then imagined a new disc of remixes baptized a few months later Veronica Electronica. But the project had finally been put aside by the singer’s teams.

During the promotional campaign of Ray of LightMadonna had revealed at the time that “Veronica Electronica” was referring to the. alter-ego that she found herself during the recording of her album.

“I embarked on electronic music with William Orbit and I created an alter ego taking one of my second names. And ‘Veronica Electronica’ was born. Discover my half,” she continues.

Now available, Veronica Electronica thus marks the return to music of Madonna, six years after Madame X (2019). If the biopic that Universal was preparing on the singer was abandoned in 2023. a series devoted to her career is also under development at Netflix, with Shawn Levy in realization.
