It is a new contract but with more limited conditions. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will continue to develop film and series projects with Netflix, the streaming giant announced on Monday.
The platform, with whom the couple had signed an exclusive contract in 2020, will now have the opportunity to accept or refuse a project before it is proposed to other studios. This agreement, whose financial conditions have not been revealed, is considered less lucrative, although it allows more flexibility to producers.
The pride of Meghan Markle
In a press release, Bela Bajaria, Director General of Netflix content described the couple as “influential voices whose stories find an echo with the public everywhere”. Meghan Markle said he was “proud” to extend this partnership.
The prince and his wife signed a first contract with Netflix in 2020 for an estimated amount of $ 100 million, a figure that has never been confirmed. In this context, they produced the docu-series Harry & Meghannarrating their break with the British royal family. A successful series, making 23 million views in the first four days after its release, a record for a Netflix documentary.
Success of a culinary program
