In an Instagram video published this Friday, August 1, Kendji Girac surprised his fans by announcing a particularly personal project: the release of his autobiography. Entitled “Mi Vida”, this book will appear on October 1, 2025 at Flammarion and promises to be very different from the usual testimonies of stars. “For the first time in this book, I tell ‘Mi vida’ (” My life “), the real one. The one where there is no detour. The one without the cameras,” says the singer with a perceptible emotion. This announcement comes after years of solicitations that he had always declined: “I have often been offered to tell my life. But I told myself that at my age, it was to be a little pretentious, that I had to live a little more,” he explains. Recent events have clearly changed its perspective. “In recent years, many things have changed in my life, inside me. And I felt the need to indulge in these pages,” he continues. The artist promises to approach all aspects of his existence: his childhood, his travels, his family, the scene, his emotions and in particular his fatherhood which he describes as “something that has been incredible” in his life. Even more disturbing, he evokes what he has “sometimes hidden, unfortunately, behind his smile, without really wanting to” and suggests revelations on his personal gray areas.
A dazzling ascent from The Voice
The story of Kendji Girac begins spectacular in 2014 when this 17 -year -old young man, from a Catalan gypsy family, wins the third season of “The Voice” with more than 51 % of the vote. This victory marks the beginning of an exceptional career which immediately propels him to the top of French music. The whole of his discography today totals more than 6 million albums sold, a remarkable performance completed by more than 2.5 billion views on YouTube and more than 500 concerts given around the world.
