In Raceulles-sur-Mer (Calvados), the new book cabin opened its doors on Saturday July 5, 2025.
Installed since 2009
“The books hut has been completely renovated before the summer,” explains Mayor Anne-Marie Philippeaux.
“Its location accelerates its deterioration. Since its installation in 2009, we had hitherto been remedied by damage by repeating it and changing a few parts each year, but the wood being completely damaged. It was decided to burn it off and get it back. ”
Redone by a local craftsman
“We called on Thomas Durand, a local craftsman located in Bernières-sur-Mer, who did us a great job,” adds Michèle Tanné, deputy mayor. “It was redone identically of the old one. The paintings were carried out by the city’s technical service ”.
It is a nice tool that appeals and is part of the landscape of our seaside, it was important for us to make it last.
