Nevertheless, The driver and passenger of the Honda were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The passenger, 64-year-old Theodore McCorkle, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver, 55-year-old impairment suspected deadly head-on crash Christina Whitman, died on June 20 from her injuries, CMPD said. Additionally, The driver of the Charlotte Water truck also suffered serious injuries in the collision.
Detectives say the Honda was traveling west when Whitman crossed the double yellow line and hit the truck head-on. Impairment is suspected as a factor in the crash. Speed may also be a factor, according to CMPD.
