“If you don’t love us, go on!” “: The reality show” Hmi House “, by Snapchat Hachemi star, controversial in Morocco

The 29 -year -old influencer Hachemi, alias HMI, a real snapchat star with his 13 million subscribers – the one who took the place of Nasdas in the charts of the network for teens – has just launched season 3 of his reality TV, “HMI House”. A return widely awaited by his community, but which already takes on the air of media fiasco.

The “HMI House” is a concept that stages several content creators united under the same roof and confronted with various tests, a classic of reality TV, usually broadcast on the big chains. Like many such programs, the “HMI House” is accused of being a vector of sexist shot.

For this new edition, the influencer has chosen to shoot live from Marrakech, Morocco. HMI has thus invited personalities already well known to the general French -speaking public, such as Astrid Nelsia (“Les Anges”), or other reality TV stars, like Polska and Fares Salvatore. The key for the big winner: a check for 100,000 euros. Ultimately, it is users who decide the fate of influencers, via a Snapchat survey system, where the program is broadcast.

But here is the cast of this edition was also another star of the social network, Salva. It is from the latter that the wind of controversy came to the Cherifian kingdom. The reason? Insulting remarks with regard to Moroccans that the interested party has repeatedly made in videos that came out on the occasion of the broadcast of the third season of the show.

“The Arabs are always too much with them: their bricks are too fatty, their pastries too sweet, their Moroccan too many of the P **** (sic),” he said, in a video dating from nine years ago.

“What do you do with us?” Start! »»

These comments widely set out on social networks caused a storm in the kingdom of Mohamed VI, and sometimes very violent reactions from Moroccan Internet users calling to disrupt the shooting of the program in Marrakech.

“What is this again this Snapchat program #HMIHOUSE who brings back the worst filth from France to Marrakech? Especially this Salva which makes fun of children, then insults Morocco and the Moroccans! If you don’t love us, what do you do with us? Start! », Stands another user on the Elon Musk social network.

“I invite all Moroccans, if you see them in Morocco, to inflict difficulties and to denounce by filming,” calls a surfer. “You are going to get out of us it’s a promise!” We do what is necessary, ”protests another user on X.

The wave of criticism and call for boycott was such that Moroccan media specializing in social networks relayed the campaign to obtain the start of the complain, like the TFT Marocco account and its almost 120,000 subscribers on the X platform.

Feeling that such a controversy could jeopardize its shooting, HMI communicated this Thursday evening to extinguish the fire.

“Salva’s words date from nine years ago. He is a very good guy in real life, and I was aware of nothing at all before inviting him here. The error is human and Salva himself preferred to leave the adventure to redeem himself from his faults rather than participate in the concept. We are all brothers, regardless of the origin. Do not be mistaken, “he explained to his community on Snapchat, acting the departure of the fault of” adventure “.

“The principles come before content and entertainment,” said the influencer on his Snapchat account.

Mea culpa and request for forgiveness

In the process, Salva, too, wanted to apologize on the same network. “I wanted to apologize to the Moroccan people. I’m going to stay like a guy in Morocco and make good actions to make me forgive, “he said in a video published by HMI.

At the end of the exchange, HMI seems to accept the excuses of his acolyte and evokes the possibility that the one who presents himself as a “humorist” remains in the show to “try to be forgiven with the Moroccan people”.

This Friday, images of the latter on a trip with the other residents of the “HMI HMI House” adventure also circulated on social networks.

Pending the ephemeral program has aroused tens of millions of views on Snapchat since its launch on August 20. Was it not that, in the end, the most important for the influencer?
