Glenn Hughes (Ex-Deep Purple) denounces a breathless system

Glenn Hughes declares that the music industry no longer really exists and denounces a system that has become unrecognizable, while continuing to devote itself to its artistic projects.

Glenn Hughes criticizes the current state of the music industry

In an interview with Dirty soundGlenn Hughes, former bass player and singer of Deep Purple and Black Country Communion, said that the music industry as he knew it no longer: “There is no longer really a music industry. It’s not the same world anymore. Record companies are a waste of time. The people who work there do not understand music”. According to him, the situation is particularly difficult for young artists who are struggling to make a place.

Asked about the need to “play the game” to remain relevant, he replied that he did not feel the need, believing that he had accomplished everything he wanted since his childhood: “All I want is to make music, give concerts and have fun”.

A musician always active

Hughes will release his new album Chosen September 5 via Frontiers Music SRL. This disc will include songs in particular Voice In My Head, Chosen et Into The Fadealready revealed to the public. He will be accompanied on this recording by Søren Andersen (guitar), Ash Sheehan (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keyboards).

At the same time, he continues an intense scenic activity with the tour The Chosen Yearswhich will start on September 2 in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands, and will end on November 29 in Bogota, Colombia. He also participated in notable collaborations this year, such as the Satchvai project with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, presented in this article.
