Domiciled in Manhac, this 45 -year -old man disappeared in the middle of the night on Saturday June 28 after leaving Rodez hospital. More than a month later, research continues and his relatives keep hope.
Where is Romain Assier? This is the question that many loved ones are asking, whether it is their family, friends, work colleagues or just acquaintances. It’s been over a month since this Aveyronnais is missing. The story dates back to Friday, June 27.
After sleeping with his parents near Tanus in the Tarn, in the morning, Romain Assier takes the road towards Manhac, where his home is located. From there, he is supposed to board his service vehicle and start his working day as a Ascensorist as he does daily. It will not be.
Around 11 am, he would have taken the wheel of his personal car, a Volkswagen Touran, direction Rodez airport – without his mobile phone. But from the parking lot of this platform, he takes the direction of the Aveyron prefecture on foot, along the RD840. His vehicle will be found a few days later by the police. “What was his idea in mind at that time, we don’t know anything”reacts today his family.
Victim of discomfort on his journey in the Bourran district, he was taken care of by firefighters and transported to Rodez hospital, a few meters away. Admitted to the emergency room around 6 p.m., he went out on Saturday 28, in the middle of the night, around 3:30 a.m. where he was filmed by the video protection cameras of the hospital center. It was at this point that the trace of Romain Assier fades … well almost.
A hundred people looking for him
Because quickly, an impetus of solidarity is set up around the family, in order to collectively go in search of this Aveyronnais. “We quickly created a WhatsApp group bringing together a hundred people in order to bring back the information and find tracks”explains Séverine Assier, the mother of her two daughters aged 12 and 15.
Messages are published on social networks, citizen beatings organized around the hospital … “It is a very great mobilization with great benevolence, we must thank all the people who invest in this research, Thanks Amélie and Anaïs Assier, the two sisters of Romain. It is like our brother who is a fundamentally kind and appreciated someone. ” For their part, the gendarmes conduct the investigation and a notice of disappearance is broadcast on Monday June 30.
However, few serious tracks are emerging. Reports have been made to Capdenac, Figeac, Mende or even Rodez, without these elements being completely reliable.
