Crying Remco Evenepoel stops his free fall and indicates in the Tour de France
End of story for Remco Evenepoel (25) in the Tour de France: our countryman has left the Tour de France along the back door. Evenepoel had been on the fool for several days in the Pyrenees. His second tour of his career ends with a hisser.
On the way to Hautacam, he showed himself resilient on Thursday and turned a complete smoker stroke, on Friday he was particularly excited on Peyragudes after an outright humiliation.
Remco Evenepoel and his team Soudal – Quick Step hoped that a new day would mean a new chance, but that was vain hope.
During the 14th stage Evenepoel quickly got into trouble on the Tourmalet. Evenepoel had to find his own pace at 109 kilometers from the arrival in Superbagnères.
He was not immediately surrounded by teammates, a wipe sign. Evenepoel was nevertheless the company of Pascal Eenkhoorn, but was annoyed by the TV camera in his neighborhood.
Evenepoel struggled a bit in the background and initially limited the loss of time to a minute, but in his white sweater he still sent out ostentatively.
Shaking his head, he consulted with the tracking car, with Evenepoel again angry on the camera in his neighborhood.
Fighting against the tears, he made a child happy with a bottle. It was his last achievement.
Completely dismissed, he took a seat in the back seat of his follower.
