The Brussels Capitale-Ixelles police proceeded Tuesday afternoon to the evacuation of the district around the Palace cinema, located Boulevard Anspach, in Brussels, due to a bomb alert. The information was first reported by Het Laatste Nieuws and was confirmed by the local authorities.
“We can confirm that a bomb alert has been reported to us. We have evacuated the surroundings of Palace cinema as well as the nearby metro stations. Excavations are underway, “said spokesperson for the Brussels-Ixelles police area. No additional information was available in the early evening.
Later, the security perimeter set up around the Palace cinema, located on Boulevard Anspach in Brussels, was lifted around 4:45 p.m., noted Belga on site.
The bomb alert, reported in the early afternoon, lasted about two hours. In a few minutes, all the police, present in number, left the scene.
At 5:00 p.m., the metro and pre-metro year, scholarship and Brouckère stations remained inaccessible.
