To accompany the iPhone 17, Apple intends to announce at the start of the 2025 school year a slew of connected watches. In addition to the Watch Series 11 and the Watch SE 3, the flagship version would obviously be the best equipped: the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Good news in history, it would take 4 major developments compared to the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
1. Satellite connectivity for the Apple Watch Ultra 3
The first novelty would be a small revolution for Apple’s connected watches: the arrival of satellite connectivity.
Introduced in 2022 with the iPhone 14, this function would allow the Apple Watch Ultra 3 to contact not only help, but also its relatives, without requiring connection to the cellular network or Wi-Fi.
Users of this new generation could send text messages at any time, possibly orienting their wrist to the sky to facilitate the connection with a nearby satellite.
2. A display that would make the difference thanks to several new features
On the design side, only a change would highlight the Apple Watch Ultra 3: the screen. Indeed, we would go to a slightly larger slab of 422 x 514 pixels, against 410 x 502 pixels on the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
As a bonus, this would not impact the template of this new model – since it would be the result of more thin screen borders.
To put it simply, the 2025 premium model would catch up with the Apple Watch Series 11 slab, significantly larger. As a bonus, the apple firm would have changed the OLED screen in two ways thanks to:
- LTPO3 technology, offering an Always-on mode refreshing every second
- L’Oled “wide-angle”offering optimal colors and contrast even when looking at the bias watch
3. Place at 5G… and a little more power
Back in the world of connectivity, Apple would finally pass the high speed for the cellular network. We would indeed go to 5G on the Apple Watch Ultra 3, thus abandoning the traditional 4G LTE.
By the way, the S11 chip would significantly improve the situation compared to the S9 of the Apple Watch Ultra 2.. We indeed expect a little more power and better energy efficiency.
In addition, it would adopt one of the advantages of the S10 of the Apple Watch Series 10: its finesse. What leave to hope for a less imposing thickness on this generation.
4. A new health data that could change everything?
Finally, let’s talk about the still uncertain evolution: the arrival of a new health sensor. According to rumors, the blood pressure measurement may be the program on the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
However, some sources suggest that technology would not arrive in time for the release of this watch because of problems linked to the precision and reliability of this new component.
So you should not expect miracles if it is embarked this year, with only hypertension alerts that can be sent in the event of an unusual activity.
