“It is a little bit of emotion” and a day of “recognition to a man who marked the history of art and culture”, reacted the mayor of the town, Abel Martin, believing that the actor “transported the image of Douchy around the world”.
Described as a “resident like any other” by many, Alain Delon lived in Douchy for several decades and “took with him a little of our land and our heart,” continued Mr. Martin.
A plaque was also unveiled inside the stadium in honor of the actor, who had equipped in 1983 the youth football teams from Douchy with jerseys in his name.
Joined by AFP in July, the eldest son of the actor, Anthony Delon, had indicated that this tribute was organized “with the agreement of the children”.
But neither Anthony, who posted an Instagram video on Monday morning from the actor’s property in Douchy, his sister Anouchka or his brother Alain-Fabien participated in the ceremony.
“It’s nice to have come”, still launched Anthony Delon to a dozen admirers from his father during a brief exchange through the grid of the family home. “The first year is a door that closes, it’s special (…) A VA, it’s nice to see these people,” he said on this occasion to TF1 journalists.
A screening of a 45-minute documentary film, “Delon-Douchy”, written around the relationship between the actor and Douchy, was also organized at the start of the evening in the frenzy municipal village hall, where around 150 people had taken place.
Alain Delon, world cinema legend, was buried on August 24, 2024, a few days after his death on August 18 at the age of 88, in the strictest intimacy of the chapel of his property “La Brûlerie” acquired in 1971.
The actor rests there near his dogs, as he wished, an exceptional procedure which required a prefectural authorization.
On the day of the funeral, but also during the week preceding, several hundred admirers had gathered in front of the gates of the estate to deposit flowers and pay it a last tribute.
