For its 80th anniversary, Secours Populaire offers 80,000 children and their guides an extraordinary vacation day in Paris, August 20: a day of the forgotten holidays “de phew”! 3,000 children from the five continents are also invited.
Discovering emblematic places in the capital
Longtime partner for Secours Populaire, the Yvelinoise publishing house on rue du Monde will be celebrating. For 25 years, in fact, it has offered, each summer, 5,000 pounds during the forgotten day of the holidays organized by Secours Populaire on a beach in Normandy.
This summer, it will be an exceptional event with thousands of children who will be gathered in Paris for a day of visits, discoveries, sports meetings and a great festive spectacle at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
In the morning, the thousands of guests will visit the Quai Branly museum, the Château de Versailles, France Miniature, the Jardin des Plantes, as well as other historic, cultural, sporting or institutional high places (the National Assembly, the Senate, the Pantheon, the Eiffel Tower, the Triomphe Arc, the Vincennes Zoo, the Garden of Acclimatization; Air and space, the National Museum of Natural History, the Musée d’Orsay, the Musée des Arts Forains, the Palais de Tokyo, etc.). The shuttle companies will offer cruises on the Seine.
At noon, a giant picnic will be organized, before the Mars field turns into a holiday site. Participants will be immersed in different universes: the sea, the mountain, the campsite or the country of dreams.
Throughout the afternoon, activities and workshops will be offered: sports demonstrations, discovery of trades, mailboxes of dreams and souvenir shops.
Two big highlights, including a giant karaoke, will close the day to leave with “phew” memories.
And children’s literature will be once again present! Secours Populaire and rue du Monde are working to associate reading and leisure. Books are not just at school!
Alain Serres and Laurent Corvaisier produced a book in charge of hope: 30 fables written in the future! They bring humor and fantasy to welcome all differences, say no to selfishness and violence, challenge the future of the planet.
With the assistance of friend of the world, which mobilizes children within the Secours Populaire, the book will be in all hands … and these fables which invite you to rethink the world will be learned in class, as soon as the next school year!
Fables. A white multicolored ice merchant bear… and free! A gazelle that paints parasols on the elephants to refresh the climate! Kangaroos kings of barter … The animals of fables come to the aid of humans! 30 fables that do not take themselves seriously but seriously heal the world. Humor and strong images that take us on a future that could be a happy planet for all. Fables for the country of tomorrow!, By Alain Serres and Laurent Corvaisier, will be available in bookstores on October 24 (rue du Monde).
