A documentary film on the latest Depeche Mode tour, in the cinema this fall

Directed by Fernando Frias de la Parra, the feature film mixes extracts from the last concert of the group in Mexico City, in September 2023, and philosophical passages on music, death and Mexican tradition. He will be released on October 28.

Depeche Mode fans will be delighted. More than a year after the end of the tour Memento Mori World Tourthe British group announced Tuesday August 12 on social networks, the broadcast of the documentary film Depeche Mode : M in the cinema. Projected in 2500 obscure rooms from 60 countries, this hybrid feature film will combine images of the three concerts played in September 2023 in Mexico City, as well as more philosophical passages on music, death and Mexican tradition.

Produced by Fernando Frias de la Parra (preselected at the 2021 Oscars for I’m no longer here), video capture is described as a “Musical and spiritual journey”. If the projection is scheduled from October 28, the ticket office will open on September 17.

In 2022, Depeche Mode was struck by the death of Andy Fletcher, historic member of the group. Upset by the loss of the keyboardist, the British training published in 2023, Memento Mori An album of twelve titles where the themes of death reign. Hailed by criticism, the disc reached first place in German, French and Italian rankings.

The disc was defended on stage by the immense tour Memento Mori World Tour. Begun in February 2023, the show traveled the North American and European rooms for fourteen months, bringing together nearly three million fans. In France, the group sang in Lyon, Bordeaux and Lille before performing at the Stade de France, in June 2023. Depeche Mode returned six months later, playing two additional dates at Accor Arena in Paris.
