The flight took place from Sion airport and lasted four and a half hours. Domjan took advantage of the summer thermal currents to propel its HB-SXA device at this altitude. according to the Solarstratos communication cell.
Despite this impressive performance. Raphaël Domjan did not achieve his initial objective of becoming the first pilot to exceed 10,000 meters above sea level with a solar plane. The team will therefore have to continue its efforts to reach this symbolic milestone. A new attempt could be organized in the coming days.
This flight, which culminated 8,224 meters above sea level around 5:25 p.m., nevertheless represents a significant improvement for the pilot.
