An intrigue halfway between Courtyard window d’Alfred Hitchcock et Hidden by Michael Haneke: Beyond the resolution of the case. which quickly becomes secondary, Stranger Eyes is above all a reflection on the gaze and the ability to see, but also on the desire to be looked at or not. The whole staging. particularly thoughtful, confronts the status of the “voyeur” and that of the “view”, of the immersion in the pixelated images of the camcorders, with the filmed architecture – these stairs whose openings recall the edges of a television … Too bad, however, that the narration a little school, in three acts, bridles the film in its most promising impulse.
