After several months of media absence following the accusations brought against him, Slimane resurfaces by announcing his participation in the prestigious byblos festival in Lebanon. An announcement that marks its progressive return on stage, but only internationally.
A return to the stage in an exceptional setting
It was through Instagram that Slimane has officially broken the silence that has surrounded him for several months. In a video published this Thursday, August 7, the interpreter of “My love” has emotionally unveiled its next scenic appearance: “I am too happy, because for the first time, I will finally perform in concert in Lebanon. It will be on Saturday August 9 at the Byblos Festival, and I can’t wait to see you, meet and share this evening together.”
The Byblos International Festival, organized by In Action Live, represents a major cultural event which takes place from August 5 to 10, 2025. Located in the historic port city of Byblos, by the Mediterranean, this festival has attracted renowned international artists for decades.
On the Instagram account @in.ction.live, the organization is pleased to welcome “One of the most moving voices in French pop” et specifies: “Last chance of getting your tickets for Slimane live at the Byblos International Festival! “
An international reconstruction strategy for Slimane
This appearance in Lebanon is part of a broader approach of progressive return on stage, but exclusively abroad. Already at the end of June, Slimane had surprised his audience by performing at the Mawazine festival in Rabat, Morocco. The opportunity for him to present an unprecedented title, “What am I using“, which he then shared on his social networks on June 25: “Last night I sang for the first time this song that I just wrote. I wanted to share with you an extract …”
This international strategy seems deliberate. The Slimane team is visibly put in territories less impacted by French controversies, where the artist retains a positive image.
The shadows of the past and the hope of a renewal
The silence which had imposed itself around Slimane has its origin in the serious accusations brought against him last October. According to the Revelations of the Parisian, a technician from the Cupid Tour tour had filed a complaint for sexual harassment. The facts would date back to December 17, 2023, during a concert at the Zenith in Saint-Etienne, where the former technician accuses the singer of having forced him to a hug during an alcoholic evening, going so far as to tackle him against a wall.
In the process, a second complaint had been filed by another employee for “Sexual assault and attempted sexual assault”. These accusations caused a brutal and unexpected media storm, ending abruptly in a prospective period of his career.
Despite these controversies, Slimane, who had represented France at Eurovision, had not completely disappeared from radars. His presence at the last NRJ Music Awards, where he had received two trophies – that of the French -speaking male artist of the year and the French -speaking hit of the year – had created a mixture of discomfort and misunderstanding among fans and the general public. Since this controversial appearance, Vitaa’s great friend had chosen to be discreet.
