These post-war painters inspired by Périgord

Several of his works are currently exhibited at the Jardin de Malrigou in Saint-Jean-d’Esissac where the famous Pol Chambost ceramist lived. But Hans Seiler is not the only Honoré in this superb place that Philippe Chambost still maintains.

Cross -views

Florent Piednoir wanted to confront the gaze of this artist, rather unknown in Périgord, with others. So different style works are offered, made after the war by other renowned painters. This is how we can admire in the old workshop of the ceramist of the works of Marcel Loth, Yaude, Maurice Albe, Jean Cluseau-Lanauve, but also of Elisabeth Dujarric de la Rivière or Jean-Daniel Ribeyrol, names renowned in Périgord.

A work in the lot is a little more mysterious, since it is a canvas representing the Roque-Gageac, signed Henk Fortin. He is a Dutch painter, well known in his region but who spent two years outside his country and obviously made a short but inspiring stop in black Périgord.

The opening took place Thursday July 24.
