Simona Kossak, Odyssey of species – Liberation

The young woman, small and long braided hair, embraces a large crow. Boat beak, a camera by hand. In a forest in winter, we still see it, mantle stuffed and chapka, a look at the photographer, she walks with deer. We do not know who follows the other. Do wild animals obey their mistress? Or is it the woman who accompanies the pack and go for a walk in the woods? This young woman is Simona Kossak (1943-2007) Biologist and zoologist, professor invested in behavioral ecology and the preservation of natural ecosystems. She was born in Krakow, in a large family of artists, her grandfather, her father, her aunts, her sister are painters, writers or poets. The Kossak are abused by the new communist regime which then settles down, without losing their old manor “Kossakowka”, stronghold of the noble family.
