Papini maintains that her kidnapping was real. claiming the fear of losing her children in the custody battle led her to assert that she faked her own kidnapping, rather than admitting she was in communication with Reyes before she went missing.
The custody trial began at 8:30 a.m. at Shasta County Superior Court.
