Olivier Giroud marks his first two goals with Lille against Venice

Olivier Giroud has just opened his counter with LOSC. The Frenchman scored his first two goals with his new club against Venice in the pre-season match.

The flagship recruit of Lille, striker Olivier Giroud, scored a double in his second friendly match under his new colors, against Venice (3-0 victory) at the Domaine de Luchin, the LOSC training center.

The 2018 world champion, author of 57 goals in the French team, brought his team to this convincing success, a few days after difficult beginnings in the DOGUES jersey, marked by a 3-2 defeat in Dortmund.

A double in halftime

Alone at the heart of the surface, he picked up a pass on the ground of Hakon Haraldsson to open the scoring (20th). Then, perfectly launched by the Belgian defender Thomas Meunier, he doubled the bet by pushing at the bottom of the nets, of the left foot this time, the ball under the helpless eyes of the Venetian goalkeeper (37th).

The 38-year-old striker, who arrived in July from the Los Angeles FC, then released at halftime, replaced at the head of the attack by Matias Fernandez-Pardo, 18 years younger and author of the third goal (75th).
