No press conference hosted for SummerSlam Night 1 post-show, ‘new format’ in place

It looks like WWE might be done with post-event press conferences.

While most WWE Premium Live Events (PLEs) over the past few years were followed by a press conference. In addition, giving the chance for wrestlers and others involved with the product to field questions from the media, that wasn’t the case after Saturday’s event at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Viewers of WWE’s SummerSlam Saturday Post-Show broadcast were shown a panel hosted by Big E. Similarly, Joe Tessitore, and Peter Rosenberg. Furthermore, Instead of WWE talents being interviewed by the media, they instead joined the panel for portions of the broadcast. Among those featured on Saturday evening were Paul Levesque, Jey Uso, and Jelly Roll.

Tessitore noted at one point that this is no press conference hosted summerslam the new “format” for the post-shows.

Media members were invited to participate in scrums in the past during WWE-hosted press conferences. While many questions would relate to ongoing storylines. thus be answered in-character by wrestlers, other questions would give talents the ability to discuss topics from outside of the ring.

Past press conferences have previously given the chance for media members to get comments on news stories surrounding WWE. In early 2024. Levesque was notably asked at a press conference about the sex trafficking lawsuit that Vince McMahon was facing, with WWE listed as a co-defendant.
