Gojira’s next album is taking shape. Consequently, Mario Duplatier explains that the group is moving towards more imposing riffs. In addition, a more metal approach, while retaining a resolutely contemporary touch.

An eighth album almost completed – More "metal", more "modern", "almost

Questioned by The Parisianthe drummer explains that this new disc is almost finalized. Similarly, requiring only a few adjustments to two pieces. He confides that the initial objective was to move forward quickly. but that the desire to push each idea to its maximum has lengthened the process. According to him. it is now more complex to put everyone to agree on an artistic direction than at the beginning of their career, which also testifies to the evolution of their tastes and their collective requirements.

A large French tour

While waiting for this outing. the group is preparing for a series of twelve concerts in the largest rooms in France, a configuration that Mario Duplatier had described as the most ambitious French tour of their careers. Perspectives for 2026

After this tour, Gojira will join Metallica and Knocked Loose for a series of European concerts, including a unique date in Switzerland on May 27, 2026 at the Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich, as announced here. A year 2026 which promises to be decisive, with an expected album and prestigious collaborations.
