You are from Pont-de-l’Arche and you live in Mayotte, how did you work your subject on the Word-Board Forest?

Why did you choose to write a book on this forest?

I have always known this forest. Moreover, It is a place that is familiar to residents here. For example, We do sports, we walk there, we picnic … Furthermore, and beyond our Sunday leisure, this forest is precious. Nevertheless, We need to think about his presence and future. The forest has a collective interest, it questions us, we must preserve it.

Is it threatened?

Yes, there is already the motorway project that we have been talking about for many years. This construction would considerably reduce the vital space of animals, but large animals need spaces without road.

You approach in your work the history of this forest but also wildlife, flora, resources … How did you work on scientific aspects?

I worked with the regional archeology service, to understand the rock, the essences and question the maintenance of this forest. It was the most complex part of research. I also maintained myself with Alain Delannoy who is a naturalist. It was a precious help to me. I also received the help of the manager of the Forest Forest at the ONF, Philippe Coudoulet. Your book is prefaced by the president of the Seine-Eure agglomeration. Bernard Leroy, and the vice-president of tourism, Nicole Labiche, what role played the agglo in the publication of your book?

When I started my research on the on -board forest. I asked for the agglomeration which was interested in my work since it has, among its skills, forest missions. As I evolve my work, I kept them informed. This research is used for the agglomeration services. interview. book. between archives walks, elected officials were interested in editing a popular work that they can distribute to their partners.

Your work contains many photos, how did you work the visuals?

I worked with the Norman photographer Nicolas Letellier. the layout was produced by Yvon Ronnel who is a graphic designer in Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf.

You have published how many copies of your book and where can you get it?

It is printed in 1,100 copies and the Agglo ordered 750. It can be found at Bulle de Café in Pont-de-l’Arche. in the LA VERRIE bookstores in Pont-de-l’Arche and Quai des Mots à Louviers.

You have written several books on local history, where does this interest come from and is it still lively while living in Mayotte?

My father is passionate about history and my mother of readings. I studied history and sociology and I like the region. Additionally, I wrote several books on Pont-de-l’Arche. the surrounding municipalities, I also have a blog on the history of the Pont-de-l’Arche region. Despite the distance from my place of life, I am still as passionate about this region and its history. I would like to come back to live here but my wife has all her family in Mayotte … So when I come here, I am a tourist, at home!

And you plan to write a book on Mayotte’s story?

Yes, why not but there, I am more interested in politics.

Do you have a new writing project on Pont-de-l’Arche?

I want to be interested in the Vaudreuil plain under the eyes of the two lovers. It will be a book on the geographic location of this plain and the legends surrounding the hill.
