Immersion, passion (and sound problem) … For its great first, the new Ligue 1 + channel succeeds in its launch

The first times are rarely a great success (yourself you know, do not do the innocent) but, for once, the new Ligue 1 + channel has rather succeeded in its big launch. Much awaited by viewers who had fled Dazn and its prices for Émirs du petroleum last season, the platform stamped LFP should not take its feet in the carpet of the vestibule for its great first on the occasion of the shock between Rennes and Marseille.

And apart from a microphone problem for the new consultant Souleymane Diawara (for the youngest who read us, it is the former large mower of OM in the 2010s), not much to complain about the L1 +teams. We thank them for sparing us the tu “Cool” Dazn version of last season, just as we enjoy these cameras in advance which immerse us in the heart of the life of the teams before and after the match.

We were able to attend the arrival of the two evening captains, Valentin Rongier Côté Rennais and Léo Balerdi on the OM side, in the referee’s locker room to sign the match sheet. It gives a vintage side that reminds us of our years of football in district and just for that, thank you for the wink. We will pass on the following sequence, when Souleymane Diawara reads us one by one the names inscribed on the match sheet in question, and which, whatever the journalist who accompanied her – “an incredible moment”, according to him – was more embarrassing than informative.

As for the pre-match show, “Kick off”, nothing very revolutionary if not the (small) size of the tray and the too tight suit of our colleague and friend Swann Borsellino, which we kiss. Some debates, an interview of a player after the warm-up and a tactical palette led by Adil Rami (that we feel very comfortable in this role of mid-serious/mid-marranous consultant), we can speak of great classic but made without false notes or frills, which is a good start.

An immersion that is happy

What fundamentally changes compared to last season is the “inside” side that wishes to bring league 1 + to its subscribers. Back to the wall after understanding that their championship was not worth almost a circle, the clubs, in lack of money, will finally have to make themselves violence to allow the L1 + teams to bring the soap opera of Ligue 1 to life a little more immersive than in the past.

We appreciate seeing (and hearing) what is said in the locker room and in the corridors before and after the matches. We will wait to see the rest of the system, with in particular the return of the Sunday afternoon multiplex and the Sunday program, to definitively pronounce the quality of the proposed product. But this first evening still gives us good reasons to believe in an exciting season to follow on the LFP platform.
