Thursday afternoon, the Cantonal Soleur Police deployed in force in Oensingen (SO) to evacuate several horses from the property of the Pius Schwizer show jumper, 63 years old. This is what “Blick” reported. Police confirmed to have intervened in his stud farm in collaboration with the administrative authorities. This operation would follow unpaid debts of the bronze medalist Olympic.
The athlete confirmed the information to us, but refuses to go into details. He acknowledges having gone through a difficult financial period because of the pandemic. In June 2023, creditors would have asked him about 600,000 francs. Pius Schwizer works to repay his debts. But the other creditors also demand to be compensated, which is impossible for him. “We cannot spend more than what we earn.”
The high -level sportsman suspects that someone has put pressure on the authorities. The intervention would have taken place while he was absent for a competition.
He says he wants to honor all his commitments, but requires time and understanding: “I will return everything. They just have to have a little patience, “he said.
Pius Schwizer won the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
