“He is a legend in the NHL, but especially in Winnipeg,” said Scheifele during an interview with the NHL.com site. I had several conversations with him this summer. He can’t wait to resume hockey and rub shoulders with our group. I am happy to count on a player with his status and experience. ”
Toews returns to the National Hockey League after an absence of two seasons. Following with various health problems of recent years, he convinced the jets to grant him a contract in July.
This will be a very significant season for the 37 -year -old veteran, who is from Winnipeg.
“A return to Winnipeg after being absent for a few years, I thought it was logical,” said Scheifele. I hoped that we were among the favorites to obtain it, and we are very excited to have it with us. ”
In his last NHL campaign in 2022-2023, Toews raised 31 points in 53 games. Among the jets, the former winner of the Trophies Selke, Conn Smythe and Mark Messier could control the second or third trio.
