Frontignan-de-Comminges. An extraordinary book fair!

Who would have bet on the book fair on July 27 in the small village of the Frontagnes? We could not say but one thing is certain, he made a hit! “All the planets were aligned for the success of this 1st edition”, loose Yves Planas, the mayor of the village, blessed to have embarked on this adventure under the sign of meetings and discoveries. His assistant and president of the cultural association of the village Marie-Claire Méric, is just as much, still on her little cloud so the day was rich and beautiful. With the author Christian Louis at the initiative of the show and for 10 months, they had prepared themselves to launch this event which aroused the curiosity of around 500 visitors, of Toulouse, Gers, Hautes-Pyrénées …, and well of the world of borders. “It is enormous for a first. The authors were themselves surprised by the crowds and interest in this fair,” admits the writer, pointing out that it was sold more than 300 works of the 20 authors and authors, known or less known, retained to participate. Thus, from morning to evening, each visitor returned to the sphere of intimacy of an author, hence the interest of treating the space. Everything had been thought in detail with Christian Louis, well established as a guest of salons. “Everything was square with respected instructions. The element of success of this fair, we owe it to the mayor, a real locomotive, and to his assistant who have the culture of the organization. Beyond the figures, I liked this human dimension with volunteers who had a sense of initiatives so that everything works”, adds the latter, going so far as to speak of aesthetics in the village hall where the departmental advisor of the community of Pyrenees Haut Garonnaises Alain Puené and the deputy Joël Aviragnet. The latter congratulated and encouraged the event marked by “a general benevolence” felt by Christian Louis, who to close this show, after workshops, conference and success tables, paid a tribute both literary and human to his friend, the writer Yves Heurté. A moving moment during which people who knew Dr. Yves Heurté shared some anecdotes. “We will see how we will organize ourselves in 2 years”, agree to say the craftsmen of this first edition who wanted to thank all the financial and human supports and are already motivated to leave in 2027. Salon which gave birth to “Frontignan-de-Comminges-Singular plural”, a book co-edited by 8 authors who dedicated a few lines of writing, Beautiful feather.
