Corrosion of conformity has completed the recording of his first album since 2018, a double disc that the group describes as one of the most significant of his career.
A double album ready to see the light of day
On social networks, Pepper Keenan and Woody Weatherman confirmed the end of the registration sessions by declaring: “We have just finished one of the most powerful and significant discs in which we have participated … And yes, it’s a double album”. The group welcomed the contribution of musicians and collaborators like Stanton Moore, Bobby Landgraf and producer Warren Riker, now responsible for mixing.
Part of the guitars was recorded in a place to say the least unexpected: the private studio of Barry Gibb (Bee Gees) in Miami. Corrosion of conformity benefited from the reception of Stephen Gibb, son of Barry and former member of Black Label Society and Crowbar, as well as the expertise of Riker. An experience that musicians describe as “A time out of time”.
A chapter marked by changes
This new opus will succeed No Cross No Crownpublished in 2018, and will constitute the first recording since the departure of the founding bassist Mike Dean in September 2024, a subject that we discussed in this article. Dean had explained that the geographic distance and the disappearance of the drummer Reed Mullin made the collaboration difficult. Bobby Landgraf, who had already joined the training on stage, now holds the bass in the studio.
As recalled here, the group had finished pre-production at the start of the year, confirming its desire to continue despite the tests. This double album, expected for 2025, should mark a new turning point in the history of Corrosion of Conformity.
