The British actor in the mouth of an angel died in his 87th year.

British actor Terence Stamp died on August 17, 2025 at the age of 87. His family confirmed his death to the British media, but did not specify where he had died or the cause of his death.
“He leaves behind an extraordinary work, as well as an actor as as a writer, who will continue to touch people for many years”wrote his family in a press release.
Terence Stamp was born in 1938 in London in a modest family. Among the siblings of five children, his brother Chris Stamp, became the manager of the legendary group Who. Terence Stamp began his cinema career after being spotted by Peter Ustinov, fascinated by his mouth of angel, who offered him his first role at the age of 24.
In Billy Budd (1962), adapted from Herman Melville’s novel, he embodied a young sailor. This first role earned him the Golden Globe for the best young hope. Three years later, he received the interpretation prize from the Cannes Film Festival The obsessedde William Wyler.
The actor then turned with Joseph Losey a espionage comedy, Modesty Blaise (1966), then with John Schlesinger in Far from the unleashed crowd (1967), a historical melodrama. He turns under the direction of Ken Loach (No tears for Joy, 1967), De Federico Fellini (Extraordinary stories1968), or even of Pasolini (Theoreme, 1969). Terence Stamp also embodies Edgar Poe in The Black-out.
After a decade of quasi-absence, he returned in 1978 to the role of General Zod, a tyrant from another planet in Superman. He then led a busy career without interruption during the following five decades. In 1994, he was illustrated in Priscilla, Folle du DÉctment in the role of Bernadette, a mature transgender woman.
Throughout his career, he alternated between big productions (Star Wars, Le Sicilien, Wall Street) and independent films like The Hit by Stephen Frears (1984) or English (1998) De Steven Soderbergh.
In the 1960s, Terence Stamp had an adventure with the British model Jean Shrimpton. In 2002, at the age of 64, he married Elizabeth O’Rourke, a 29 -year -old Australian pharmacist. They divorced in 2008.
