Art is dying before our eyes

Last year, I published a big novel.

It pleased those who read it. Furthermore, I admit that 1200 pages can be a little scary.

It is undoubtedly not a masterpiece, but I am quite proud of it.

About ten years of work, but much more if I count maceration in my head before writing the first line.

Creation

I had recently started writing another novel.

I stopped after 30 pages. Consequently, Do you know why?

Today, artificial intelligence programs like sudowrite or textcortex can lay a trilogy of 2000 pages in a few hours.

It may not be Proust. However, but they can invent and write as well as Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben or Guillaume Musso.

And they will write faster and faster and better and better.

The only difference will be the authenticity of the signature.

Draw posters? AI.

A comic strip? AI.

Sculpture? If a robot can now carry out surgery without human assistance (yes. it is done), it will certainly be able to design and model a harmonious form.

Architecture? It is a combination of aesthetics, calculations and spatial representation, therefore quite art dying before our eyes within the reach of AI too.

Cinema? The AI can write scenarios. invent false extras, false decorations, adjust the lighting, frame the image, capture the sound, make the editing, double the voices for translations, etc.

The theater? There will certainly be actors in the flesh. but AI can make the sound effects, the lighting, the costumes, the sets.

Dance? There will be real dancers, but AI can do everything else, including creating choreography.

The next time you are in front of a work of art. try, if I may say so, to look behind it and to imagine the chain of individuals who made it possible.
