The back -to -school allowance (ARS) is a state financial assistance intended to soften the expenses of the start of the school year. It is paid to families with at least one school child aged 6 to 18. It depends on resources and is therefore not granted to everyone. We take stock.
What is its amount?
It was reassessed according to inflation. It differs according to the age of the beneficiary. It is 423.48 euros per child aged 6 to 10, 446.85 euros per child aged 11 to 14, € 462.33 per child aged 15 to 18. The ARS will be paid this Tuesday in mainland France as well as in the departments of Guadeloupe, Guyana and Martinique. It was paid on August 5 in the departments of Mayotte and Reunion. The ARS is paid at once by CAF.
In the very particular case of a child entrusted by the judge to social assistance to childhood or an establishment of the same type, the allowance is kept in a blocked account with the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. It will be paid to the child, at his request, by the Caisse des Dépôts when he is adult. This savings is intended to support it in its autonomy.
Who can benefit from it?
The ARS is subject to resource conditions and function of the number of dependent children. It is calculated from the resources of the year 2023. These must not exceed 28,444 euros for a child, 35,008 euros for two children, 41,572 euros for three children, 48,136 euros for four children, then 6 euros per additional child. It is paid directly by family allowances or agricultural social mutuality.
If a child is in apprenticeship, in addition to these means conditions, the monthly social net amount should not be more than 1,104.25 euros.
If a child follows home schooling, the ARS is paid provided that it is registered in an educational institution, such as the CNED.
How to benefit?
For children who will be 6 to 15 years old on December 31 depending on the start of the school year, there is no approach to welcome for CAF beneficiaries. The back -to -school allowance is then automatically paid to families who meet the conditions. No need to provide supporting documents for articles related to the start of the school year.
A six -year -old child in kindergarten can benefit from ARS. Conversely, a child who would only have 6 years in 2026 but already returned to CP this year, can also benefit from ARS, provided that you recover a schooling certificate from his school and send him to CAF.
