30 years later, Coroner surprises his fans with a new studio album

The Swiss pioneers of the Thrash Metal Coroner announce the release of their first album in more than thirty years, accompanied by an unprecedented single entitled Renewal.

Coroner returns with a new album after three decades of absence

The group from Zurich signs its discographic great return with Dissonance Theoryexpected for October 17, 2025 via Century Media Records. This is their first studio recording for more than three decades. To mark this new stage, Coroner unveils the single now Renewalaccompanied by a clip produced by Dariusz Szermanowicz.

In a press release, guitarist Tommy Vetterli returns to this creative approach: “I wondered what Coroner should be today, but looking back would have been useless. Even if the music remains linked to my identity, we simply wanted to create something honest, anchored in the present. Renewal opens this new chapter and I am for the first time entirely satisfied with an album, from start to finish.”

An album shaped between Switzerland and Sweden

Composed of ten titles for a total duration of 47 minutes, Dissonance Theory Was recorded by Vetterli at the New Sound Studios in Switzerland, before being mixed and masterized by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Kreator, Amon Amarth) at the Street Studios fascination in Sweden. The cover, designed by artist Stefan Thanneur, accompanies an outing declined in several formats: a limited 2CD mediabook including the cult demo Death Cult from 1986 with Tom G. Warrior as guest, as well as editions in CD, vinyl and digital version.
